Pieter Thijssen studied classical guitar and light music at the Brabant Conservatory in Tilburg. His passion was European folk music and then mainly Latin American. He was influenced by Argentine troubadour Atahualpa Yupanqui and guitarist Eduardo Falu. He played this genre live with Duo Arpa. LP and CD recordings followed. He also performed at major festivals such as Dranouter and Folkwoods. Later, he devoted himself to the bandoneon and founded the ensemble Tango de Barrio. All these different musical styles, such as the samba, milonga and tango come together in this program.
